Last Thursday marked a fun-filled cooling off to the summer for the First Bank of Greenwich, as they hosted a vibrant ice cream social at their Cos Cob branch.

This afternoon treat drew a large crowd, including members of the community and bank customers with their family and friends. The attendees thoroughly enjoyed their time, engaged in friendly conversations and laughter while indulging in the delicious ice cream generously supplied by the bank on this hot 90-degree July day.

The event showcased a selection of soft vanilla and chocolate ice cream, served by the colorfully adorned American Swirl truck, based out of Brewster, New York. The variety of enticing toppings, such as rainbow and chocolate sprinkles, cocoa puffs, marshmallows, gummy bears, and more, made it an even more delightful experience.

Indeed, the American Swirl truck was the highlight of the event, with people queuing up to enjoy its sweet treats. This food truck is a versatile service catering to individuals, businesses, and non-profits in Fairfield and Westchester Counties and the Hudson Valley for various events.

John Aversano, co-owner of the American Swirl and owner of the highly popular Aversano’s restaurant and catering company in Brewster, launched this venture with his partner around three months ago. Aversano also happens to be a cousin of Frank Gaudio, the President and CEO of the First Bank of Greenwich.

“It’s delightful to see everyone enjoying themselves today,” said Aversano. “Frank has been wonderful, and his invitation is what brought me here. The experience has been fantastic.”

Others mirrored this sentiment. “This event is a fantastic way to bring people together. Frank Gaudio consistently organizes wonderful community events like this,” said Don Pastorello, a client of the First Bank of Greenwich from Trumbull, Connecticut. “Moreover, it’s perfect for such a hot day. It’s a fun-filled gathering that allows us to relish the ice cream.”

Frank Gaudio, the 2023 Greenwich Sentinel Award Honoree, appeared to be in high spirits, engaging with the attendees. “John showed me his truck last week, and I thought it would be great fun to bring it to work for everyone to enjoy,” said Gaudio. He also shared that his favorite ice cream flavors are chocolate and salted caramel.

According to Gaudio, the primary objective of the First Bank of Greenwich, with Bruno J. Gioffre as the Chair of the Board of Directors, is to serve their customers and the local community. “We strive to do our utmost,” said Gaudio. “Our commitment is to delivering the best service possible.”
