A community bank as loyal as your best friend.
We understand the love, loyalty and companionship our furry, feathered or scaly friends provide is beyond measure. At our core we cherish the extraordinary connections we share with our pets.
Pets at the First Bank of Greenwich
It’s a testament to the beauty of this relationship and we’re here to celebrate and support it with you every step of the way which is why our offering list includes a Pet Savings Account. As every pet parent knows, having a “fur baby” can sometimes be as expensive as having a real baby. With that in mind we created an account designed to help you save for all your pet-related expenses; everything from food, accessories, routine vet visits and unexpected emergencies. Enjoy a competitive interest rate and the peace of mind that comes with knowing you have a dedicated fund for your furry friends.
Honoring the unique bond between humans and their beloved pets, we’re dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of animals as well as the communities they inhabit. By establishing strong partnerships with local animal care and rescue organizations, we actively seek to provide a better quality of life for animals and contribute to the well-being of animals in the local area. We also encourage our employees and customers to get involved in animal-related activities. Whether through donations or participating in charity walks, volunteering at animal shelters or adoption events; we believe in fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility for animal welfare and are proud to showcase our affiliations with various animal groups and organizations that share our passion for animal welfare. Our commitment to animal welfare extends beyond business, it’s personal, and we look forward to sharing our passion with you. Stay connected with us on social media to learn about upcoming events, fundraisers, and opportunities to get involved.
Meet Arlo!
Featured Dog
We LOVE working with Adopt-A-Dog, a dedicated organization committed to finding loving homes for dogs in need, on their annual “Puttin On The Dog” festival, but since that only happens once year, we’re thrilled to partner with them on the “FBoG Furry Friend” adoption campaign!
As part of our joint effort, The First Bank of Greenwich features a “FBoG Furry Friend” on our website and social media pages highlighting a special dog from Adopt-A-Dog’s shelter. Through this initiative, we aim to raise awareness and support for animal adoption, helping more dogs find the loving families they deserve. Please join us in supporting this great cause and, if you can, consider opening your heart and home to a furry friend in need.
That said, we’d like you to meet Arlo!
Adopt-A-Dog tells us this 3.5-year-old Shepherd/Lab mix hails from the heart of Colleton County, South Carolina—and he’s got just the right mix of charm and energy to steal your heart (and maybe your squeaky toys).
Arlo is a big ol’ goofball who lives for the thrill of the chase—whether it’s a bouncy ball, a stuffed critter, or that one squeaker that just won’t quit, Arlo’s always ready for a game of fetch. But don’t let his zoomies fool you—this handsome guy has a soft side, too. Once playtime’s over, Arlo’s happiest curled up by your side, soaking up all the pets and pampering he can get. He’s loyal, lovable, and ready to be your best friend and cuddle buddy for life.
Visit Wagtopia.com for details on how you can give Arlo the forever home he deserves, and make sure to come back often to see other featured dogs as we try to find their forever family!

Adopt-A-Dog Needs Your Support!
On Friday, May 2nd, 2025, the good people at Adopt-A-Dog welcomed a very special group from Stamford Animal Control: three beagles from a hoarding situation and one incredibly lovable mini poodle named Cheddar. Cheddar was found as a stray, but you’d never guess it from his joyful spirit. He’s a happy, affectionate little guy who’s already stealing hearts.
While they don’t know exactly what happened to him before he was found, it was clear that Cheddar suffered a traumatic injury: a radial nerve avulsion in his right front leg; an irreversible condition that has left the limb paralyzed. The most compassionate and medically sound option is amputation, which will allow Cheddar to live pain-free and mobile. Aside from his injured leg and a mild case of “happy tail” (a minor injury caused by wagging too enthusiastically, classic Cheddar!), he’s a young, otherwise healthy pup full of life and love.
This rescue was particularly meaningful to Adopt-A-Dog, and us, not just because of Cheddar’s incredible spirit, but because supporting our local shelters like Stamford Animal Control is a core part of our mission. Now, they’re asking for help to cover Cheddar’s surgery, recovery, and ensure he’s set up for a happy, active life. Let’s rally behind Cheddar and turn his story into one of healing, hope, and a future full of tail wags.

Meet Atlantic and Amur!
Featured Cats
Our ongoing collaboration with Adopt-A-Dog has been incredibly rewarding, bringing so much joy and wagging tails to countless families. Due to its resounding success, we’re thrilled to extend our reach to our feline friends as well and very excited to work with Friends of Felines, Inc, an incredible organization helping the homeless and forgotten cats of Fairfield County since 2001.
In partnership with Friends of Felines, we’d like to introduce you to Atlantic and her brother Amur, a bonded sibling pair (estimated DOB 9/18/2024) who’ve come a long way from their rough start on the streets. While they’re still working on their confidence, both have blossomed in foster care and reveal their cuddly, curious sides more each day.
Amur, a striking white kitty with bold inkblot patches, is the more outgoing of the two — a sweet, adventurous little guy with cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), a neurological condition that affects balance and coordination. CH isn’t painful or progressive, and in Amur’s mild case, it certainly doesn’t stop him from exploring, playing, and zipping around like any other kitten. He loves cozy hiding spots like cat caves, drawers, and carriers, but mostly, he adores laps and head rubs.
The tuxedo beauty, Atlantic, is more cautious and startles easily, but don’t be fooled — she enjoys treats, affection, and playtime just as much. Once she’s comfy, you’ll find her lounging in your laundry, napping at your feet or on your lap, or sneaking up for a neck or chin scratch (purring included). She’s wonderfully gentle with Amur — often letting him win their playful wrestling matches.
If you’ve got room in your heart for two quirky, lovable kittens who will reward your patience with trust, affection, and endless charm, Atlantic & Amur may be the perfect match. The first step is to submit the online adoption application by visiting Friends of Felines below.
The second is to stay tuned as we work with Friends of Felines to find more kitties their purrfect partner!
