Community
When businesses succeed, so do the banks that support them. And the communities where they’re located grow as well. A strong community bank that works with local businesses develops a kind of corporate reciprocity. Together, we create jobs, provide crucial services, and help our friends and neighbors thrive. That’s community banking. That’s what The First Bank of Greenwich is all about.

Commitment to Community
Our commitment to community is woven into the fabric of our business. We believe in giving back to the communities that support us. From a financial perspective, we worked harder on getting our clients the most out of their PPP loans through COVID than any other bank in our locality. Our bank actively supports local charities, events, and other causes that enrich the lives of our neighbors and create a positive impact. We also support the local arts through numerous bank-sponsored events throughout the year. Our commitment to the community also includes ensuring financial inclusion for all. We work diligently to provide accessible banking services and products to individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering economic growth and stability for everyone.
Commitment to the Future Generation
Being “Change Makers” in our community is our goal. At our bank, we believe that true commitment to the future extends beyond financial transactions. That’s why we partner with Greenlight, a comprehensive financial literacy program designed to empower the next generation with essential skills for managing their finances wisely. We also take pride in working with local nonprofits on impactful projects. Whether granting annual scholarships to a high school student in each of our branch locations or volunteering staff and supplies for our local charity’s annual “Backpack to School” campaign, we seek to encourage and provide a steppingstone to a brighter tomorrow for our youth. Our commitment to the future is further evidenced by our integration of sustainable practices and environmental responsibility into our operations. By adopting eco-friendly policies and supporting green initiatives, such as hosting Greenwich’s annual paper shredding event, we aim to minimize our ecological footprint and encourage a culture of environmental stewardship.
Commitment to Charity
From medical to musical and everything in between, our client list includes a wide array of non-profits that we support and sponsor with our Charitable Checking Program. With our program any non-profit organization* holding their business operating account with us receives a quarterly donation from the Bank to help further their cause. Additionally, the balances on accounts opened by supporters of the non-profit count towards the quarterly donation as well.
* The organization must maintain an address in Fairfield or Westchester Counties.
Commitment to Financial Success
Believing a well-informed person can make better financial decisions and plan for a more secure future we empower our customers by providing educational resources and online tools to enhance their financial literacy. With our Start2Save program children as young as 6 begin learning the basics of earning, using and saving money. Our “Kids Teller Line” with its much-loved “Prize Wheel” gets them excited about coming into the branch and learning more about how to manage their finances.
Commitment to Empowerment
At The First Bank of Greenwich we understand the vital role small businesses play in our community’s economic vitality. We empower business owners with the financial guidance and tools they need. Through tailored financial solutions, workshops, and networking opportunities, we actively support and promote the growth of local businesses. Compromising over 450 people, our Advisory Boards provide a platform for business owners across our local footprint to come together and learn from one another.
Women’s Leadership Network
The mission of The First Bank of Greenwich Women’s Leadership Network was created to provide an environment with opportunity for women in our community to come together and exchange ideas, share business tips and engage in positive conversation to spur creativity and leadership.
Commitment to Each Other
As members of the community, our staff believes in supporting one another. Whether it’s participating in community clean-ups, sponsored walks, supporting food drives or volunteering at local fundraisers, we are dedicated to making a hands-on difference. Our team members are encouraged to volunteer their time and skills to support local initiatives and work extensively with various community, mental health, and animal support organizations. Through our partnership with Neighbor-to-Neighbor we’re committed to fighting hunger in our local communities with food drives and donation points at each of our branches. In addition to our extensive non-profit list, we also partner with Toys for Tots during the holiday season, so be sure to stop in!
